Star Wars Day!

I recently decided that with themed or national days or holidays that happen, I am going to write about them!

So apologies but this post comes nearly two weeks after the actual day in question.

It it a day wired into every geeks, sci-fi and overall movie fans brains.

I am talking of course about May the Fourth.

May the Fourth be with you is the catchphrase of Star Wars Day on May 4th, the unofficial holiday celebrating the Star Wars franchise. It is a pun on a famous line from Star Wars, May the Force be with you.

Star Wars was big for me growing up, I remember getting the original trilogy for Christmas when I was like 7/8. I went to watch the phantom menace at the cinema with my dad, which must of been 20 years ago now which is madness! That is only naming a few of many memories I have, I could mention more but this would become a Star Wars appreciation post. After all it is partly down to Chewbacca that I have the nickname Chewi.

I realised that the day was coming up a few days before may the fourth and I wanted to make the most of it especially with the lock down rules and everything else. My original plan was to watch the latest film in the saga because it was being released early on Disney plus. But when it came to the day I really didn't fancy watching the new film because things I have heard about it and I haven't really gotten into the new trilogy.

So I still got the Disney plus subscription (which was cheaper than I imagined it would be!). Instead I binge watched The Mandalorian, which is about a bounty hunter in the Star Wars universe. I heard it was good and unfortunately thanks to the internet I knew a few things of what to expect but it was so so good! Best thing I have watched in a while.

I cleared the whole first series quickly and apparently there is a second series coming in October so that is not to far away! I loved the casting as well, especially with Giancarlo Esposito, Carl Weathers, Clancy Brown and Richard Ayoade.

I played a bit of Lego star wars on the PS4 too, Lego games I find a little boring though unless your playing with someone else.

Onto the food!!

I couldn't really think of anything Star Wars themed food or meals, but I fancied something comforting. So I opted to have another go at Chewi's Beanz! This time I included bacon and I used mixed beans so there was quite the verity.

I split this batch in 2 portions so I could have some the next day after my run, but I ate it all in the space of about 20 minutes/half hour!

I had them with a toasted bagel, next time I want to try them with some chorizo or sausage meat. It could transform them into next level beanz!

As you can see below, Jabba approved!

So that was it pretty much for star wars day, I made the most of it and that was good enough for me!

Until we speak again, may the force be with you!
