Late Night Snack Attack!! Part 1: Roast Potato Rumble!
3..2..1..
Hello again! And welcome to the first post on yet another feature, Late Night Snack Attack!!
Where I will be making some decent food for late night entertainment & sporting events.
Kicking off part 1 I made something for the royal rumble! A wrestling event that was founded back in 1988!
Now I was in two minds whether to stay up and watch this as I had work the next day and I hadn't slept in the day before to counter the sleep I would definitely lose by staying up and watching. But I decided to make the most of things and I realised I have never watched a rumble live before. A rumble match starts with either 30 men or women & they eliminate each other until there is only one left.
I like the rumble because its unpredictable and there can be some surprise entrants. I was hoping for a few entrants from the British brand into the rumble matches but I suppose with the travel restrictions and the way things are, it was a hard ask. There were a couple of entrants in the women's match that started in NXT UK & who I was lucky to see at Takeover: Cardiff, Toni Storm & Ria Ripley.
From January to around April is the most interesting time on the WWE calendar I feel because the rumble starts the road to mania, which is normally held in April. Well its the time I take the most notice anyway.
The rumble ended up finishing at around 4 in the morning and I was up to go to work for 6. It was worth it though with it being a good show all round. Overall I found the women's match more entertaining than the men's and they gave the win to an up-and-comer in Bianca Belair.
The men's rumble match they gave the win to a bit of a returning legend, Edge! Edge retired over 9 years ago because of a bad neck injury but worked his way to return about a year ago. Now Edge I was watching 20 years ago so he's been involved for a long time.
On to the roasties!!

Making roast potatoes as a snack came about while I was out for a walk talking with a friend, a fellow roastie lover. We spoke about having them as a snack. So that got us to thinking about having a roast potato cook off where we would do our own versions and then compare.
So starting off with the potato itself I went for the maris piper potato, I was always told they were the best potatoes to make chips & roasties with.
My friend how ever went for Irish rooster potatoes, again a potato that's very versatile.
Now for seasonings & flavours! My friend went for sea salt, chilli rapeseed oil and honey. Garnished with chopped spring onion!
Where as I went for a different look. I went for loaded roasties with bacon, cheese, parsley & BBQ sauce drizzled over! I also roasted my potatoes in just regular rapeseed oil.
I can only speak for myself but I made my roasties to share, as much as I didn't want to share them! They were gone within 5 minutes of the show starting. I know also that my friend demolished hers quickly also.
So the show started at midnight so I thought I would start the roasties at 10. I was talking whilst the potatoes were boiling and roasting, I was saying to my friend how I've never heard of honey drizzled over roast potatoes. That lead me to thinking about adding some cooked apple and bacon to roasties one time. But I was hit back with something far more genius with a pear and brie combination.
I think its a clever idea, so I think it will be an option to make soon!
So that about wraps up part one of LNSA! Thankyou for reading!
In part 2, I will be cooking something for the fast approaching super bowl!
